Development of CBIC The Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC) is being developed in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The Master Planning Report on three identified Industrial Nodes i.e. Krishnapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), Tumkur( Karnataka) and Ponneri ( Tamil Nadu) in the CBIC region has been submitted by JICA. The report has been accepted by DIPP. The East Coast Economic Corridor (ECEC) is envisaged from Kolkata (in West Bengal) to Tuticorin (in Tamil Nadu). The first phase of the ECEC focuses on the Vizag-Chennai section which runs from Vishakhapatnam (Vizag), Andhra Pradesh to Chennai, Tamil Nadu. ADB has submitted the Conceptual Development Plan report of Vizag Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) region. The report has been accepted by DIPP.

The Prime Minister  presented President Nursultan Nazarbayev a set of books relating to religions born in India. President Nazarbayev has held the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions every three years at the Palace of Peace and Accord in Astana since 2003. The presentation set includes an English translation of Guru Granth Sahib, as also specially commissioned reproductions from the manuscripts collection of National Museum, Delhi. The reproductions include one of Jainism’s most revered texts, Bhadrabahu’s Kalpasutra (15th century AD) in Prakrit; one of Buddhism’s most important scriptures Ashtasahasrika Prajnaparamita (12th century AD) in Sanskrit; and a Persian translation of Valmiki’s Ramayana (18th century AD) in nastaliq script.

  INS Teg, a stealth frigate of the Indian Navy is currently on a two-month long deployment in the South Indian Ocean with an aim to provide surveillance support in the region. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, visited the Kyrgyz-India Mountain Biomedical Research Centre (KIMBMRC) at Bishkek. He was briefed by scientists there on the activities at the Centre. The Prime Minister electronically unveiled a plaque commemorating the inauguration of the extreme high altitude test laboratory - Phase 2 of the KIMBMRC project - situated in the Syok Pass at an altitude of 4000 metres.
