  Ministry of Finance 22-August, 2022 16:38 IST The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India today signed a $96.3-million loan agreement to provide safe drinking water and improve water supply and sanitation services in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The signatories for the Himachal Pradesh Rural Drinking Water Improvement and Livelihood Project were Mr. Rajat Kumar Mishra, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, who signed on behalf of Government of India and Mr. Takeo Konishi, Country Director for ADB in India, who signed for ADB.   India adds 10 more wetlands designated as Ramsar sites to make total 64 sites Posted On: 03 AUG 2022 7:35PM by PIB Delhi India adds  10  more wetlands designated as Ramsar sites to make total  64  sites covering an area of  12,50,361 ha  in the country. The  10 new sites  include:   Six (6) sites in Tamil Nadu and   One (1) each in Goa, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha . Designation of these sites would help in conservation and management of wetlands and wise use of their resources. India is one of the Contracting Parties to Ramsar Convention, signed in Ramsar, Iran, in 1971. India signed it on 1 st  Feb 1982.
