Year End Review-2017: Ministry of Communications

Ministry of Communications Important Achievements of DoT in the year 2017 Posted On: 28 DEC 2017 1:18PM by PIB Delhi 1.  Launch of National EMF Portal : Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has launched Tarang Sanchar, a web portal of information sharing on Mobile Towers and EMF Emission Compliances, with a view to generate confidence and conviction with regard to safety and harmlessness from mobile towers, clearing any myths and misconceptions.  The portal can be accessed at  www.tarangsanchar.gov.in . The EMF portal provides a public interface where an easy map-based search feature has been provided for viewing the mobile towers in vicinity of any locality.  By click of a button, information on EMF compliance status of mobile towers can be accessed. Detailed information about any tower site, if requested, will be sent on email to the users.  Additionally, any person can request for EMF emission measurement at a location by paying a nominal fee of  ₹ 4000/- online.  Loc

Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas   Posted On: 28 DEC 2017 1:30PM by PIB Delhi I.       Exploration &Production 1.     HELP:  The new Hydrocarbon Exploration Licensing Policy (HELP) for award of Hydrocarbon Acreages in the Upstream Sector of India was notified on 30 th  March, 2016 and formally launched w.e.f 1 st  July, 2017. Open Acreage Licensing Policy (“OALP”) is one of the key features of HELP which has been notified on 30.06.2017. 2.    Discovered Small Field Policy:   The Union Cabinet approved 69 marginal fields for offer under Discovered Small Fields Policy.  Out of these, 67 Discovered Small Fields were clubbed into 46 contract areas and put on offer.  Based on the success of DSF Bid Round-I, DGH has further identified 60 un-monetised discoveries / fields of ONGC and OIL in nomination regime and relinquished blocks of PSC regime. 3.    Survey of un-appraised areas of Sedimentary Basins of India : To generate seismic data for initiating Explorati

Year end Review MHA 2017

Following are the highlights of the activities of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) during the year 2017: Cabinet approves umbrella scheme of Modernisation of Police Forces.  The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, on 27 th  September gave its approval for implementation of umbrella scheme of "Modernisation of Police Forces (MPF)" for years 2017-18 to 2019-20.  The financial outlay for the scheme over the three-year period is Rs.25,060 crore, out of which the Central Government share will be Rs.18,636 crore and the States’ share will be Rs.6,424 crore. Special provision has been made under the Scheme for internal security, law and order, women security, availability of modern weapons, mobility of police forces, logistics support, hiring of helicopters, upgradation of police wireless, National Satellite Network, CCTNS project, E-prison project etc. Cabinet approves extension of implementation of Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems
