ECONOMICS
Peter Diamond and Dale Mortensen of the United States and British-Cypriot Christopher Pissarides won the 2010 Nobel Economics Prize on Monday for work on why supply and demand do not always meet in the labour market and elsewhere.
PHYSICS
Andre Geim of the Netherlands and Russian-British national Konstantin Novoselov won the 2010 Nobel Physics Prize on Tuesday for their pioneering work on graphene, a form of carbon which conducts electricity.
MEDICINE
Robert Edwards, the British scientist whose pioneering research with his late colleague Patrick Steptoe led to the birth of the world's first “test-tube baby'' in 1978, has won 2010 Nobel Prize for medicine.
LITERATURE
Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa was awarded the 2010 Nobel Prize in Literature on October 7.
CHEMISTRY
The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2010 was awarded jointly to Richard F. Heck, Ei-ichi Negishi and Akira Suzuki "for palladium-catalyzed cross couplings in organic synthesis".
