IQ Versus EQ!!

Well we all are aware of Intelligence Quotient but how many of us are aware of Emotional Quotient(Emotional Intelligence).

A very apt move by UPSC to include it in MAINS syllabus, because in present scenario EQ is lacking.
We are having highly intelligent officers but the RED TAPISM shows they lack EQ.
Everything in this world cannot be counted in terms of monetary benefits and materialism, that is not basic human nature.
There are certain things which surpass these things " feel GOOD factors ".
Thats why the lifestyle diseases, the stress levels have increased, Anxiety, Depression.
The youth is not able to cope with such pressures thats why Suicides have increased, Anti Social Elements have increased.

Its high time people understand that things like happiness, love, humility, empathy.sympathy are all very important too than IQ alongwith Honesty, Trustworthiness, compassion, love for Environment, (The nature which sustains us we are destorying it how can that be called INTELLIGENT remotely also)

Even in Human Development Index, the measure has been taken as Happiness quotient to measure the development of a particular society. Emotions cannot be ignored they need to be taken care of in a positive manner so that they result in benefit of the society and self.

In today's times where teenagers on just scoring less in exam are doing suicides, or taking a gun and killing people around, or Corruption which has completely destroyed the feeling of patriotism, made people forgot the sacrifice of freedom fighters who gave their life for freedom (Yes they had EQ!!)
Inflation, economic problems, social problems, ecological problems need to be solved by properly utilising both EQ and IQ. they both are interdependent on each other.

More to come on this topic :)
